Applications
From air and land to maritime environments and space, autonomous systems face fundamentally different operating conditions. Yet the underlying challenge remains the same: How can a system perceive its environment, understand what is happening and make reliable decisions when connectivity, energy and human supervision are limited?
MMX develops technologies that bring sensing, computing and artificial intelligence directly to the edge. Instead of relying on continuous data transmission to a central system, our approach enables systems to process information locally, identify what matters and respond to relevant events in real time. This principle scales from a single autonomous sensor node to distributed networks and spacecraft systems. Different sensors can be combined, local intelligence can be adapted to the mission, and multiple systems can share selected information to create a broader picture of their environment.

Intelligence Beyond Connectivity: Sense. Decide. Act - on board.
Space systems operate under fundamentally different conditions. Communication bandwidth is limited, latency can matter and continuous human supervision is impossible.
MMX brings perception and decision-making directly into the spacecraft. On-board edge intelligence can analyse sensor data locally, identify relevant events and support autonomous responses without relying on continuous communication with Earth.
Our research includes infrared detection and autonomous interpretation of thermal and optical phenomena in space, extending edge intelligence into one of the most demanding operating environments.
